My 11-year-old son has a full size flag of Pakistan hanging on the ceiling over his bed. He put it there as a regular reminder to pray for the more than 375 unreached people groups that make up the 160 million plus individuals living in this amazing country. I am proud of my son.
I am sure you have heard the news that Former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was assassinated today. I do not pretend to possess an in-depth knowledge of the inner workings of Pakistani politics. I do know that the news made me sad and heightened my burden to pray more fervently in the next few days and weeks. I have been to Pakistan several times and have many friends there. I know that God has been and is at work to reveal his glory to these peoples whom he loves.
It is times like these when our prayers need to escalate. As peacemakers we should be earnestly seeking after God's will on earth. One way we do this is to pray for the Prince of Peace to reign among the unreached peoples of the world. Please join my family as we pray for the people of Pakistan.
